Could you be a Thornbury 100 home?

Find out how to make your home cooler in summer, warmer in winter, and cheaper to run all year round, Zoe Peat tells us more.

Following the success of CATSA’s screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing at The Armstrong, we’re delighted to be returning with our partners Retrofit West on 1st October to launch Thornbury 100 Homes, our new project supporting the retrofit of 100 local homes. The project has been made possible with support from Bristol Energy Cooperative’s Megawatt Community Energy Fund.

Tackling the climate crisis and the energy cost crisis goes hand in hand. By making our homes more energy efficient through measures such as draught-proofing, improved insulation and ventilation, heat pumps and solar panels, we can significantly reduce our household carbon footprint by up to 80% while making our homes more comfortable and cheaper to run.

However, exploring all the available options can quickly feel overwhelming. Would solar panels work on your roof? Does your home need more insulation? How many radiators would you need for a heat pump? That’s where CATSA and Retrofit West can help.

Retrofit West provides free, impartial advice tailored to you and your home, helping you cut through the jargon and identify solutions that could work for you. They can also help you explore grants and financing options you may not have realised you were eligible for.

At our launch, you can chat with our partners and meet trusted local and regional traders. If you decide to join the Thornbury 100 Homes community, Retrofit West can connect you with one of their approved installers, so you can feel confident that your home is in safe hands.

Now is the time for change, and that change starts at home. Join the first phase of Thornbury 100 Homes and become part of a community of local households taking action together.

There is no pressure to sign up for anything you or your family are not ready for. Simply come along to The Armstrong on 1st October for either our 4pm or 7pm drop-in session. Discover what support is available, ask questions and find out what could work for your home, with no commitment required.
