PROJECT DETAILS
John Sheppard are one of the longest-serving institutions on Bristol high streets, the Sheppard family has been providing Butchery services to the people of Bristol for over 80 years. They pride themselves on maintaining a family feel and ethos for all customers and employees. It was with this mind that they reached out to BEC with the idea of installing solar on their rooftop space. 400 solar panels were installed, providing 138kWp of generating capacity. The benefits of this installation have been clear for the owners with bill savings helping significantly over recent years:
“The solar panels from Bristol Energy Coop have been a huge asset to John Sheppard. Financially, they have saved us around £20,000 a year on our energy bills, which has been a huge help for our overheads especially during the pandemic when business has been more difficult.”
Additional benefits which hadn’t been previously considered by John Sheppard have also been realised since the installation:
“We’ve found the panels are invaluable when tendering for work as it shows our green credentials and gives us a competitive advantage. We were put off installing the panels ourselves due to high upfront costs, so this has been a perfect solution for us.”
BEC are proud to be supporting a long-running family business with their green credentials and bill savings, to find out more about John Sheppard visit: https://www.johnshepparddirect.com/
