There are many good reasons to invest in community energy from tackling climate change and helping the wider community to making a return on your investment.
With our latest crowdfund just launched, we’ve been catching up with our growing community of investors to ask why they’ve opted for a positive investment. Today, meet Zoe Banks Gross, Director of Easton Energy Group…
Type & Year of investment: Shares, November 2015
Why did Zoe invest?
“I had set some money aside for a home improvement project which fell through. I saw that I didn’t need to have tonnes of money to invest in BEC, and thought I’d like to support renewable energy in this way, so I spent the money I had planned for the other project on shares.”
Why did Bristol Energy Cooperative appeal to her?
“The idea that a community can chip in together to buy something that will make our world a better place. It is hard to feel like as an individual I can do that much against climate change, but BEC is creating renewable energy and making it more accessible, which is amazing.”
