Why are so many people investing in renewables? Today we meet another of our growing number investors, Dan Weisselberg from Bristol. Find out why he and his wife chose a positive investment…Name: Dan Weisselberg
Location: Bristol
Type & Year of investment: Bond, July 2016
Why did Dan invest in Bristol Energy Cooperative?
“My wife and I invested in the BEC bond for a number of reasons: one was to offset the carbon emissions attributable to a family holiday. We also wanted to recognise the important role that community energy projects play in raising the profile of larger scale renewable schemes at a time when government is not acting decisively enough in this sector. Finally we could see that there was a reliable return both for us and also the community.
“We really like the approach and openness of BEC and hope it continues to play an important role locally in how energy is produced and how income is distributed.”
We’ve just launched its latest crowdfund to raise money for energy generation and storage.
