Our eighth share offer closed this week, and wow, what an achievement.
Over the course of six months, 478 people came together to raise a staggering £1.3million!
All this, right in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
We are thankful for every one of you who invested in this share offer. This financial activism on such a collective scale can achieve incredible things. We’re already looking to put your money to good use. The pipeline of projects includes what is believed to be the largest community-owned rooftop solar array in the country, a pioneering microgrid on a community housing development, and solar on a landmark music venue in Bristol.
Our projects don’t just save carbon. They are helping to generate revenues that can be funnelled back into community initiatives. This ensures we are sharing the wealth that renewable energy can bring.
Over 250 investors were completely new to Bristol Energy Cooperative. We welcome these new members to our cooperative! Our members are diverse, but connected by our passion and interest to see a fairer and cleaner energy system. Being part of the coop is a proactive way to learn more about the energy transition and to get involved.
You can also find out more about the history of the coop this short documentary. It features some of the founders, of host sites and our members.
