Patagonia Bristol supports the community energy movement

In partnership with Patagonia Bristol, the outdoor clothing and equipment brand, today we’re sharing a short new film created by videographer Nic Kane. It also features clips by videographer Lizzie Goldsack.

The film celebrates the work of BEC, showcasing our innovative projects and inspiring local people that are helping grow clean community-owned energy.

Over the last year, the partnership with Patagonia Bristol has grown from strength to strength. We’ve loved interacting with their customers right here in our city, encouraging them to join the community energy movement and hearing their perspectives.

Our collaboration with the welcoming team at the local shop culminated in a colourful shop window display of our campaign poster designed and created by Bristol-based artist Zoe Power.

Nic Kane’s new film also features clips from our recent event in the Patagonia Bristol shop where we hosted a discussion on how community energy fits into the just transition, how to manage climate anxiety, and the importance of effective community engagement.

You can watch the full event here featuring panellists Verel Rodrigues, environmental activist and engineer, Rachel Donald, climate corruption journalist, Ed Atkins, researcher in energy politics and social justice, and Olivia Sweeney, climate campaigner and engineer.

It’s wonderful to see the community energy movement bringing together local creatives, thought leaders, and members of the public. The imaginative vision and collaboration of our sector makes it truly stand out to achieve amazing things together.
